I am a lifelong fan of cinema. Other than taking a college course on cinema, religiously reading books and IMDb about film, being a devotee of Turner Classic Movies and the Criterion Channel, and watching thousands of movies over my 60+ years, I have no special training to make my opinion any more valid than anyone else’s on what makes a great film.
But one thing I like better than watching great cinema is sharing it with others. I’d rather rewatch a great film for the tenth time, but with someone who has never experienced it, than watch a new classic by myself. So I put this site together about 20 years ago, and just recently reconstructed it on WordPress. The purpose of the site is to encourage others to experience great cinema. I hope you enjoy perusing the site and take some of my suggestions and enjoy them as much as I do!
Outside of watching movies, I am a full-time Professor of Aerospace Engineering. I’m a husband and father to 3 grown children, all of whom (I believe) are better human beings as a result of being forced to watch films they might not otherwise have seen. At least that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it!
Enjoy!!!
